Interactive Robot Animation (Adobe Animate; 2020)

The robot animation was the final project for Interactive Design III. The animation could have been about anything, as long as it had three interactive animations that utilized a code and button clicks. My theme of the project was a robot repair area, with creating a character that was clearly inspired by Mega Man; this project also inspired my idea for the Game Design Capstone that I pitched to the class. The animation needed to have buttons for human interaction with the animation, three animated scenes after the player pressed a button, an idle animation that would loop when the user has not pressed a button, and code so the scenes would transition by button press. This was done in Adobe Animate, so the shapes and coloring look more childish and 2D, but kept great detail with several steps for the animation with each press. The user is simulated to be the person testing or repairing the robot, with each button press having a function to recharge, test arm cannon, or weld pieces back together to the robot. I had help on the coding aspect, but also used my previous animation project to help be a reference to switch from scene to scene. The main drawback of this animation is that it’s only interactive with Flash animation, which is no longer supported on browsers, limiting the availability of others to see my project.
