Polygon Arm Models (Blender; Low and High Poly Models):
2021

At the end of the summer of 2021, I decided to follow one last project before starting my senior fall classes. I followed two tutorials that focused on low res polygon arms and high-res polygon arms. The 3D model was the first part of what would be multiple videos for a complete FPS game. So, the arms were meant to represent the character in a “First-Person Shooter”. The first one I created was the low-res arm, being much easier because it was much simpler with blocks rather than being realistic. After completing this part, I moved onto the high-res arm which was the much longer process. The low res took about a week to complete for a 20 minute tutorial, while the high-res took about an entire month for a 1 hour and 20 minute tutorial. The high-res extended into the school year where I found some time to actually complete it. The steps for creating both were simple, having to set up and create the arms by their joints, later attaching their fingers separately from the main arm itself. These arms are technically complete, but I wanted to rig them and actually give them a skeletal structure for them to move and be animated. Despite this, I ran out of time before school and had to focus on other projects, so I plan to revisit this for a later date.
